Ride For Heroes Great Ride. Great Cause.
Note: Large truck traffic and the severe winter have caused Baker Rd south of Weatherford to be unsuitable for bicycles. As a result, we have made changes to the three longest routes. The new routes are each slightly shorter. The old 46-mile route is now 44 miles; the old 62-mile route is now 60 miles; and the old 80-mile route is now 76 miles. The registration process will still show the old route lengths.

About the Terrain

Flat scenic ranch land, rolling hills, and some moderate climbs. The 80-mile Moritz Challenge route will have views of Lake Weatherford. Bring your camera.

Roads

Roads are a combination of state highways and county roads. Due to gas drilling in the area some roads have pot holes and are rough. There are a couple short sections of chip seal as well. However most of the roads are relatively smooth.

Rest Stops

The Ride for Heroes is proud of our rest stops. We have clubs and organizations from Aledo High School responsible for decorating and handing out goodies so there is no shortage of friendly faces to help you out at each stop.  Every rest stop will have the basics including oranges, bananas, water and sports drink. Most rest stops will also feature other goodies including home made cookies.
All rest stops are manned by an EMT.
